ZEROGLARE
HELLA Mining has developed the ZEROGLARE optical system to bring the safety and comfort of highway driving to mining operations! The ZEROGLARE optical system ensures no light from oncoming traffic will be directed into the eyes of oncoming drivers eliminating the occurrence of discomfort or disability glare. The innovative optical system has a sharp horizontal cut off to control the light onto the ground in front of the vehicle and not into oncoming operators field of vision.
Disability Glare
Should you need to squint or look away, that’s the same reflex as pain and therein lies the danger.
When you have a 300 tonne haul truck travelling at 40 km/h, you want the operator looking at the road, not looking away.
HELLA Cornering Light System
Occupational safety is of considerable importance in mines.
Work is often performed at night or underground, where there is no natural light. The vehicle lighting is often the only light source. Poor lighting leads to accidents and tiredness, and is consequently an increased safety risk.
The new SMART Cornering Light from HELLA ensures greater safety in mines, in particular when turning the vehicle left or right. When turning the vehicle in the dark, drivers often only realise that there is a precipice or wall in the way when it is too late.
The SMART Cornering Light from HELLA enables drivers to see obstacles in good time and take the appropriate action.

Lighting and Safety
HELLA mining products incorporate a heavy duty mounting bracket, which when locked into position, remains there, ensuring that the lamp always distributes the light to where it is required.
The HELLA mining products have an even distribution of light, reducing eye fatigue,
caused by the eye moving from area’s of bright light to shadowed areas.
The HELLA mining product have a colour rendition of 5000 kelvin, mimicking daylight, reducing eye fatigue.

DEUTSCH sealed connectors
DEUTSCH environmentally sealed connectors are designed for cable to cable, cable to board, and cable to device applications. DEUTSCH connectors are used in harsh environment applications where even a small degradation in connection may be critical.
Wiring Harness Assemblies
BLA Engineering produces wiring harnesses for the mining and
OEM equipment harnesses are typically supplied without connector back shells and boots, thus incurring moisture ingression from pressure washing which leads to harness failure and in turn equipment downtime.
To ensure long lasting, improved quality harnesses, standard DEUTSCH connectors are replaced by heavy duty DEUTSCH connectors with improved sealing capabilities and higher impact resistance. All connectors are fitted with weatherproof connector boots
Wire specification is also upgraded to a self-extinguishing, 150°C high temperature diesel, oil and abrasion resistant GXL wire.
Braided Cable
Wiring used for additional fitments such as optional lighting, beacon lights, emergency stop kits and safety systems can become the root cause of electrical failures and down time on mining equipment.
BLA Engineering have launched an easy to use product that caters for the fitment of various systems by using braided mine spec wire. Compared to the installation of wire through regular corrugated tube, braided mine spec cable offers significant savings on labour costs.
Braided cable also reduces vibration to prevent short and open circuits, therefore reducing harness failures, costs and downtime.
By meeting OEM standards the product is ideally suited to the mining environment for use by maintenance technicians and contractors performing new fitments.
